After getting this thoughtful, but odd review of “Dogs Don’t Lie,” I’m wondering if a warning label should be put on the cover – on top of the very big photo of a cat, perhaps?
In part, it reads:
“The book is well-written and well-paced, and I didn’t identify the killer until shortly before the reveal. Simon also has a lot of interesting, common sense things to say about animals and their owners. I like the whole concept of an animal psychic as lead in a mystery series. I would just prefer the psychic didn’t team up with a cat.
If you like cats, or if you come to this book without the expectations that I did, you should be in for an enjoyable read.”
Personally, I was very disappointed that cats didn't figure as prominently in the book as the cover illustrations would have led me to believe. Perhaps you should put a big warning label over the word "Dogs" in the title.

But Jeanne, isn't it obvious that Wallis is the most important creature in the book? And possibly the world? That's what she tells me, anyway.
I'm absolutely astounded that Wallis allowed that…that…"word" above her portrait.
(Has anyone got any remedies for tongue cramp?)
I borrowed this book from the library and it's next on my list to read. I really prefer dog mysteries but find I'm also getting interested in cats (ones that don't talk, that is).
